Purina Layena Pellets
Purina Layena Pellets provide all 38 nutrients hens need. Purina Layena is a 16%-protein, high-calcium ration formulated with prebiotics and probiotics for laying hens 18 weeks and older to support optimal hen health and consistent egg production.
Layena Pellets include our Oyster Strong® System for strong shells. Oyster shell provides another source of calcium when the hens need it most. Oyster shell is a larger particle size than limestone.
This means that oyster shell will stay in the digestive tract longer and will provide a source of calcium for eggshell production over a longer period of time than smaller particle sources of calcium. This is especially important at night when egg shell formation is rapidly occurring and dietary sources of calcium are limited because the bird is not eating.
Layena Layer Feed is available in pellets or crumbles. Pellets and crumbles include the same nutrition, so choosing between the two is a personal preference. Pellets are a great way to limit feed waste.
Purina Layena crumbles & pellets are available in 10 lb. and 50 lb. bags. Stop into Core Feed located in Folsom, Louisiana for all of your poultry or backyard flock supplies. Have questions? - Feed Purina Mills® Layena free-choice as the sole ration to free-range and confined laying chickens (including backyard egg producers, small to medium breeds and fancy and exotic breeds) after 18 weeks of age and throughout the laying cycle.
- Purina Mills® is best fed one month before hens begin to lay, but not any earlier than 18 weeks of age.
- Purina Mills® Layena can be fed to both adult male and female chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys of laying age.
- Always provide shelter and a constant supply of fresh, clean water.
- Consumption will vary depending upon season of the year, nutritional needs of the animals and availability of other foods.
Important:
A feeding program is only as effective as the management practices. Actual results can vary depending upon feed intake, environmental conditions and the quality of management practices.
